Frequently Asked Questions

What program and tablet do you use?

All my full illustrations are done with Clip Studio Paint v1 on a Wacom One tablet but sometimes I doodle in Procreate on an Ipad!

What brushes do you use?

How do you create race posters?

> use the right dimensions for a standard A4 poster (420mm x 592mm) at 300 DPI
> My process starts with a tiny thumbnail that help me choose colours and composition
> If I'm stuck on a design, I look at other posters (official F1 posters or just generic posters for anything) for inspiration, but take inspiration from multiple sources and add them in your own way so it isnt blatant plagerism of another artists design
> After that it's just my standard process of sketch, block out colours, render, and fancy layers to make it look pretty

How did you get to your level of drawing?

> TONS of practice. I've been doing digital art since I was 11 years old (drawing traditionally even longer!), my art is the product of years of trial and error
> I do studies a lot! I study still life, painting techniques, character designs, etc. Any area I feel I am lacking I study (like drawing cars! I've only been able to do that more recently, after learning the shapes and how they fit in types of cars they're a lot easier for me to draw now) until I can do it to a level I'm satisfied with

Did you go to school for art?

> ...Kind of? I took visual art in high school (which turned into a Certificate III in Visual Art) but like I didn't really learn anything new in that course other than art history. I consider myself mostly self taught, sometimes I watch tutorial videos but thats not something I do frequently it's more to just pass time.
> I am currently doing a Bachelor of Creative Industries that has an animation minor, but university is mainly for connecting in the industry. I am excited to learn from professionals in the area though! I've been focusing on my major so I haven't touched anything really art related as of yet, but I'm doing my first class of the course next semester!
